Pirojsha Godrej to take over as Executive Chairperson of Godrej Industries

- Pirojsha Godrej will become Whole-Time Director and Executive Chairperson of Godrej Industries Limited (GIL) effective August 14, 2026, succeeding Nadir Godrej upon his retirement.
- His term will extend from August 14, 2026, to August 13, 2031, and he will also assume the role of Chairperson of the Godrej Industries Group.
- Godrej has demonstrated strong leadership, with the Group achieving over 20% compounded annual growth in sales and net profits over the past five years, and a market capitalization exceeding $20 billion as of April 2026.
- Under his guidance, Godrej Properties became the largest real estate developer in India by residential sales in FY21, and the Group's companies received top global rankings in their respective categories on the Dow Jones Best-in-Class Indices in 2025.
Pirojsha Godrej will be re-designated as Whole-Time Director and Executive Chairperson of Godrej Industries Limited (GIL) with effect from 14 August 2026, according to the company’s regulatory filing.
His term will run from August 14, 2026, to August 13, 2031.
Godrej will succeed Nadir Godrej as Chairperson and Managing Director of the company following Nadir Godrej's retirement. He will also take over as Chairperson of the Godrej Industries Group from August 14.
Godrej was appointed Chairperson-Designate of GIL and the Godrej Industries Group in April 2026. He currently serves as Chairperson of Godrej Properties, Godrej Capital and Godrej Ventures.
Under Pirojsha's leadership, the Godrej Industries Group has delivered strong and consistent performance, achieving over 20% compounded annual growth in both sales and net profits over the five years leading up to FY26. It is the leading player in India across several business categories, including residential real estate, animal feed, crude palm oil, oleochemicals, household insecticides, hair colour, and air care. As of April 2026, the Group's publicly listed businesses had a market capitalization in excess of $20 billion.
The Group’s largest companies, Godrej Consumer Products and Godrej Properties, were both ranked number one globally in their respective categories on the Dow Jones Best-in-Class Indices in 2025. Godrej Properties also secured the top global ranking in the Global Real Estate Sustainability Benchmark (GRESB) 2025, reflecting the Group’s deep commitment to sustainability and governance.
Prior to taking on leadership at the Godrej Industries Group, Pirojsha led Godrej Properties through a phase of rapid growth culminating in it becoming the largest real estate developer in India by residential sales in FY21, a position it continues to hold. He also founded Godrej Capital and Godrej Ventures.
